Don Peterson has been involved in music and woodworking for much of his life and in 1999, he decided to create a business out of his hobby. Peterson's Swedish Trading Company was started as a way to exchange ideas, arts and crafts and knowledge between the artisans of Central Illinois and those in Don's native Sweden. Today, the shop has grown to include a vast inventory as well as a workshop where Don creates his treasures and trains his students on the violin and nyckelharpa.
